When you remember Ernie you immediately think BBQ! That made choosing this cause so easy. Ernie loved traveling the BBQ circuit and was known for his award winning BBQ, sauce and bread pudding! He loved Hogs for the Cause and the good things they were doing combining BBQ with fundraising for St. Jude.

Ernest "Ernie" Autin, Jr., age 73, of Covington, passed away at his home on Monday, April 15, 2024. He was born in Morgan City, Louisiana on March 3, 1951 to Ernest Autin Sr. and Helen Walker Autin. He was a resident of the Covington area for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Badon Autin, his sons Jeremy Autin and wife Julie and Stephen Autin and wife Brittany. He cherished his four grandchildren, Jeremy Jr., Logan, Grayson and Caroline.
He is also survived by his brothers, Darryl, Dale and Joseph Autin and sisters Peggy Hebert and Susie Mendoza, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ernie was the owner of Ernie's Spas and Pools for over 40 years. His passion was Barbecue. He cooked for many charity events, schools, ball teams and friends through the years. If you knew him, you loved him, and he will be greatly missed by many.

Not only does cancer take an enormous toll on the mental and physical health of the patients and its family members – it also has a tremendous financial impact. The costs associated with childhood cancer make it a struggle for families to get by and meet their needs while also being able to get their child to lifesaving treatment. For families already living in poverty, these difficulties are often multiplied.
